Winkipop

Hey,
the last 3 weeks I spent in the beautiful city Lorne at the Great Ocean Road, because I found some work here. In Australia its summertime right now, that means lots of tourists and small surf. Though I scored a couple of sweet days. I can decide either to drive 3/4 hour to the east and surf the famous and crowded waves of Bells Beach and Winkipop or 1 and a halb hours to the west along the Great Ocean Road to Johanna Beach, which picks up a lot of swell.
I always have to be back around lunchtime for work so Winkipop is perfect for a morning session... just like this morning. The first picture shows a nice set hitting Bells. The others show Winkipop, which became kinda my favourite spot. This morning some sick walls were peeling from the outside point all the way to the inside and gave me some of the best rides of my life.

In 2 weeks I will take the ferry to Tasmania and hopefully score some sick wavesail conditions soon!

Sydney going off!

The forecast for last Thursday was 17 knots SSW plus a decent swell.  I checked my map and Cronulla Beach, that is located 20 km south of Sydney centre,  seemed to be the only Beach where the wind could hit sideshore.
The next day the howling wind made me wake up early and after my first glance over the beach, I knew its gonna be a heavy day.
I rigged my 4.0 Fire and hit the water even before having time for breakfast. It wasnt easy to get out but after my 4ths or 5ths try I could find a small gap in the massive swells.
Outside it was more surviving than surfing but still it was plenty of fun.
After about one hour the fin gave me a deep cut on a wipeout, so I had to end the session.

I kept driving along the coast and ended up at a spot called Sandom Point, which is known to be a worldclass pointbreak. With lots of tape on my foot I gave it a try.
The wind was super gusty but after a 15 min swim I made it to the outside. After the first wave I got caught inside and snapped my mast unfurtunatly. Now I got only one left...

Lennox Head

Pre breakfast sessions are always the best ones, so yesterday breakfast had to be delayded till lunch time.

A few days ago I bought a car and hit the road again, good feeling!
I knew there was new swell on its way to New South Wales, so I woke up early but even the 5 a.m. crowd was massiv... still had probably the best surf of my life. When I left the water with lots of cuts on my hand there were about 100+ surfers in the water.
Today it looked pretty good again but already at the entrance my chin knocked out the board... or the other way around?
Luckily it was the last day of the swell, so my board and my body got some time recreate.

Australia - Eastcoast

Heyho,
Im now since 2 weeks in Australia. At the moment I hang around at Byron Bay and will buy a car soon to pick up my windsurf gear at Sydney and travel on to the southcoast and Tasmania.
Almost everyday there are some waves for a fine surfing session. I also discovered a nice spot for windsurfing; sideoff wind and nice sets. Already missed 3 of these days because I dont have my board yet... the eastcoast is underrated!

Day in Denmark

Hey,
Friday morning Leif and me packed all our gear and left Sylt for a trip to Denmark. On the highway we met my brother Henrik and Vozzy and continued our trip with one car.
When we arrived in Klitmöller the wind was picking up and we rigged our 4,0 sails. For one hour it was so much fun to wavesail after such a long time... until the wind died.
Next day we woke up early (couldnt sleep anyway with 4 guys in one car) and sailed Klitmöller for four hours with 4,7 and pretty big waves. Then the wind turned more and more westerly, so we drove up to Hanstholm. The sideoff condition were so much fun, so I sailed for another 4 hours....
Next morning the conditions locked not that bad, but I couldnt move at all...

Sweeet Sylt

Hey dudes,
the last weeks I spent on the beautiful island of Sylt to work as a surf and sailing instructor... earning some money for a longer trip soon. After work is done there is always time for a sweet wakeboard or surfsession which makes the whole thing pretty much relaxed.
Enjoy the pics from yesterday evening..

Unfurtanatly I missed some sick days in Denmark - hate that. But forecast looks good for the weekend!
Today we had a short freestyle session. Leif burrowed me his Freestyleboard - what a difference after freestyling on a waveboard for years.

so long, check back for short Pozo clip coming soon...
